Okay, so I just couldn’t resist it … I just had to have the Stampin’ Up! Big Shot “doctors bag”.  Of course it was a necessity as I cart my Big Shot everywhere and it needs the protection, but of course it helps that this bag is just so darn cute as well!!!


I was really surprised at how big and sturdy it was.  In fact it’s big enough to be an overnight bag or a carry-on bag (in fact I did actually consider taking it on incentive trip with me, how sad is that!)

SHIMMER PAINT – WHO KNEW?

Okay, so I just had to try it out, and I’m just amazed at how pretty the Shimmer Paint is!  I’ve got all sorts of techniques to try out with it, so be expecting lots of new ideas for Stamp Club and $2 cards this month and next with this new product!!!

I was playing around with some Chocolate Chip cardstock along with the Big Shot Embossing Folders and Shimmer Paint and just couldn’t wait to show you what it looks like.  I wish you could see how fabulously glittery this is in real life – it’s fabulous!!!  Now I’ll have to design a card around this piece for $2 cards. 

DON’T FORGET – WE HAVE $2 CARDS THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON!!  Drop by anytime between 1 and 6pm and make as many cards as you wish for $2 per card.  Just bring your own tape (and small scissors if you have them) and come on over and see what we’ll be up to this month …

A BARREL FULL OF BIRTHDAY FUN!

I was chatting to the lovely Jacqui J yesterday and we challenged each other to do a monkey card.  Of course when I thought of monkeys I thought of the game “Barrel of Monkeys”, so that is where this card started …  Thanks for the kick in the butt Jacqui!!

IT’S TIME FOR A COLOUR RENOVATION!

Wow, Stampin’ Up! have just made a huge announcement and allowed us to share it with you.  It has just been announced to demonstrators world wide that they are doing some major colour renovation!   I love this change, it means that Stampin’ Up! is striving to keep up to date with the fabulous colours that they will be introducing in our brand new Idea Book & Catalogue that comes out September 1st.  The colour families we are used to seeing will be gone and instead there will be these 4 new Colour Collections!

Each Colour Collection contains 10 colors.

• 5 of these 40 colours are brand new (Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist)
• 10 are In-Colors either from this current catalogue or even returning favourites from previous years (Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, River Rock, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze, and Wild Wasabi)
• and then the remaining colours are the colours that we have been used to seeing in our current colour families and neutrals up until now.

These 4 new colour collections will contain our 40 core colours and then there will be 5 new In Colours each year which will be available for 24 instead of just 12 months – twice as much time to fall in love with them!   We will get 5 new In Colours in September 2010, and then in September 2011 Stampin’ Up will add an additional 5 in-colours for a total of 10 In Colours in the 2011-2012 catalogue. 

Unfortunately that means that some of our current colours will have to be removed to make room for all these new colour collections.  So you have between now and September to stock up on any ink pads, refills, or cardstock in your favourite colours.  Don’t leave it to the last minute, as I imagine as we get closer to that September 1st deadline it will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and I would hate for you to miss out.

So which colours are leaving?

CIRCLE SCISSORS – TUTORIAL AND CARD …

This is a card that I demonstrated at my workshop yesterday (Hi Leanne, you gorgeous thing!!).  I love the way it turned out, in fact I’m thinking I’m going to use it as the base for my convention swaps in May …



For those of you who haven’t seen the wonderful Circle Scissors (or for those of you who have, but haven’t got one yet), here is a great video tutorial on how to use the Circle Scissors.  It really is as easy as it looks to create all sizes of circles from 2cm to 16cm in diameter!  We’re spoilt for choice with this tool …

This is a great tutorial on how to use the fabulous Circle Scissors.  If you are like me, you learn better visually than trying to read instructions, so this is for all of us “visual” learners …

GUESS WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING ...

Okay, so I know I'm supposed to be making you a video of that cute little easter box but I just HAD to polyurethane all my new stamps so that they would be dry for me to use later tonight ... hopefully you will forgive me for making you wait just a little longer ...

One of the great things about being a demonstrator is that we get lots of extras for free! This is the pile of stamps that I got yesterday. I only paid for just 5 of them!! Isn't that awesome odds - pay for 5 sets and get 7 for free?!! This is almost all these stamps out in the sunshine drying off after being sprayed with polyurethane. If you don't know why we spray our wood blocks before we mount the stamps, it saves ink soaking into the wood if it should accidentally come in contact with an ink pad (and in a class it does often!), so it means that my stamps stay looking newer and prettier longer.

DESIGNER PAPER DISPLAY PACK

For those of you who ordered the display packs for last year's designer paper, thanks for your encouraging words about them! I'm doing the same thing again this year, so put your order in asap as I will fill up 1 group at a time, so if you don't want to wait, make sure you have your name in fast.

I haven't received my new designer papers yet, so I can't show you what the actual new version will look like, but this is the Outlaw page from last year's display pack and the layout will be basically the same, but with the 14 new designer papers that we have in the new catalogue and the item number added.

Price is $50 plus shipping of $6.50 and will include:
* Pre-printed pages for each of the 14 new designer papers
* 7.5cm square of each side of each of the 6 designs from each of the 14 designer papers
* Pre-punched cardstock of all of the coordinating cardstock colours.

These kits will come to you in 14 labelled bags with everything for you to put the kit together.

The base kit will include a double-page of samples for each of the following designer papers:
