Stamped CD cover

IMG_4855 copyGiving the gift of personal photos is a very special gift to give (especially to grandparents!), but it also one of those things that seems a little impersonal on the outside if you just give a boring CD in a plain jewel case (sort of like a special present that hasn't been wrapped ...). Well now you can make a special CD cover to match the special gift inside! You can even make a gift card and a CD label for the CD as well - everything matching of course!!

INSTRUCTIONS:

You will need a piece of 5.5" x 10.5" (or 14 x 27cm) piece of cardstock for your base (it's Sage Shadow in this example).

1. Score the base card on the short side at 5" and at 10". This will leave a little "tab" at the end of about 1/2" for adhesive.

2. Score the base card on the long side at 1/2" in from the long edge.

3. Using your snips, take off the corners back to the scores (this will make your life so much easier when you try to stick it all together!)

4. Fold the scored "tabs" down, and apply adhesive to the sides that are facing in towards the inside of your CD holder as shown here. Fold carefully so that the tabs stick to the opposite side and hold everything together.

5. Using a circle punch (either size will do), punch out a half circle to make it easier to get the CD out again after you have put it in!

6. Stamp and decorate till your heart is content to finish it. Repeat the same design on a CD label to really complete the package ...

What a great idea! I just got a new Dymo DiscPainter disc labeler and between that printer and your great idea my discs will look unbelievable!
